Ultrapure Phosphoric Acid for electronics.

FEBEX SA has for many years manufactured phosphoric acids for applications in semi-conductors and TFT-LCDs (flat screens). Through its long-standing experience, FEBEX SA has constantly enhanced the purity of its phosphoric acid in order to fulfil the expectations of the electronics market.

Integrated circuits are manufactured from highly pure thin and polished semiconductor layers.

Their manufacture requires several successive cleaning and stripping operations.

These operations require a number of chemicals, including :

  •  ammonia,
  • hydrochloric acid,
  • nitric acid,
  • sulphuric acid,
  • hydrofluoric acid,
  • phosphoric acid.

FEBEX SA specialises in the manufacture of ultra pure phosphoric acid for this application (VLSI, ULSI, etc., grades).

Phosphoric acid is used in the stripping of aluminium during the production of some contactors (external contact elements in integrated circuits).

Its other application is the stripping of silicium nitrite (passivation layer on integrated circuit following metal-plating).

FEBEX SA has constantly striven to enhance its phosphoric acid grades, through a stringent selection of raw materials and their impurities (Phosphorus), a strict control of the process and possible contamination sources, and a quality monitoring « chain » with end-of-line packaging in a clean room.

FEBEX SA supplies the biggest names in the electronics sector, and there is in fact a strong chance that the computer processor allowing you to read this website was « stripped » using phosphoric acid from FEBEX SA.
